1999 Chevrolet Malibu
For 1999, the Chevrolet Malibu has remained unchanged since its introduction
in 1997, a good move, considering how affectionately the public has accepted its
presence. If it aint broke, why fix it? In the early 1970s, the Chevy Malibu conjured
images of kids bound for the sunny beach in some hip shindig that was then. Since
Chevrolet resurrected the Malibu identity in 1997, the Malibu has projected a
different sort of image, one of comfort, quietness, practicality and affordability.
Taking on the market that has long been controlled by Japanese league leaders,
the Chevrolet Malibu is not afraid to show some influences these Japanese mid
size sedan has shared. Aiming for a big pie in the midsize sedan pie, the Chevrolet
Malibu is set to strike them where it matters, their design and power influences
with a more affordable price. The Malibu is presented in two trims, the base model
and the LS. The base model offers a respectable line of standard equipment features:
air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, four-speed automatic transmission, rear-set
child security locks, tilt steering column and tachometer. It is powered by a
four-cylinder engine. The LS offers a few more niceties such as standard equipment:
power windows/door locks/mirrors, keyless entry, electronic speed control, AM/FM
stereo with cassette, pass-through rear seats, and a V6 engine. The smooth shifting
and independent suspensions provide a good ride and excellent handling. Good power
exudes from its engine and there is lots of room in passenger area. The 1999 Chevrolet
Malibu has given lots of good reasons to attract attention to it.
